The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has clarified that mines and mining-related activities are covered under the Social Security Code, 2020, effective from 21 November 2025.
This means all Mines Lease Holders employing 10 or more workers must immediately register their mines and employees under ESIC so that employees and their dependents can receive medical and cash benefits.
Registration can be completed online through the Shram Suvidha Portal or ESIC Portal, and non-compliance may attract action as per law.
