The Central Government has notified a wage ceiling of ₹18,000 per month for employees working in a supervisory capacity under the Code on Wages, 2019.
Any supervisory employee earning more than ₹18,000 per month will not be treated as a “worker” and will be excluded from the definition of worker under the law.
This notification is effective from 30 January 2026 and is important for employers while determining coverage, compliance, and applicability of labour benefits
