ESIC Now Mandatory for Education & Medical Institutions in Maharashtra
ESIC has announced that all education and medical establishments in Maharashtra with 10 or more employees must now be covered under the ESIC Scheme.
This rule has come into effect from 21 November 2025 under the new Code on Social Security, 2020.
Schools, colleges, hospitals, clinics, and similar institutions must register online and provide ESIC benefits to their eligible staff, including those hired through contractors.
Institutions not yet registered are advised to complete the online ESIC registration immediately to avoid non-compliance.
