The Ministry of Labour & Employment has issued an important notification on 8th December 2025.
It clarifies that even after the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 has come into force, all existing Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals and National Industrial Tribunals under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 will continue to handle both old and new cases.
This avoids any delay or legal gap until new tribunals are formed under the Industrial Relations Code.
