The Government of Karnataka has amended the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, making it applicable to establishments employing 10 or more employees (earlier 50). The amendment also allows online payment modes such as Net Banking, NEFT, RTGS, and UPI for Labour Welfare Fund contributions. This Act has come into force with immediate effect from January 2026, and employers must ensure timely compliance.
