Key Updates:

  • Overtime is included in wage calculation and paid at double rate.
  • Minimum wages and wages are different – employers cannot pay below minimum wages.
  • Incentives (like bonuses) are not part of wages for calculation.
  • Gratuity rules apply from 21 Nov 2025 based on last drawn wages.
  • Fixed-term employees are eligible for gratuity after 1 year.
  • ESI coverage currently applies to employees earning up to ₹21,000/month.
  • Leave rules allow carry forward up to 30 days, with additional benefits if leave is denied.
