The government has revised minimum wages for employees working in shops and commercial establishments for the period 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. These wages are categorized based on skill level (highly skilled, skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled) and divided into different zones.
The salary includes Basic + VDA (Variable Dearness Allowance), ensuring fair compensation based on cost of living. For example, highly skilled workers in Zone-I can earn around ₹19,972 per month, while unskilled workers earn around ₹16,137 per month.
This revision helps maintain employee welfare and ensures compliance for employers.
